STARCOM” communication towers &
masts are our standard range of self-supporting lattice towers
based on a 3-legged profile. The “STARCOM” tower
is based on a continuous taper design and an ‘all-bolted
construction,’ such that it is lightweight and low priced,
as well as aesthetically pleasing.
Key Benefits of STARCOM's
Design:
“STARCOM” towers have been designed
using specialised structural engineering software.
They are based on certain loading parameters, which have been
carefully chosen so that the towers are structurally adequate
for most purposes:
Fabrication:
The tower legs are designed using tubular
sections and L section diagonal and horizontal bracings. This
minimises the wind effect, which is paramount in tower design.
This facilitates the attachment of microwave antennae.
The top portion of the tower is parallel (length
varies). This ensures complete flexibility over height requirements.
This facilitates the attachment of long GSM antennae.
Internal bracings and brackets are designed to ensure the
strength, rigidity and absolute uniformity of the panels.
All bolts used are High Tensile Grade 8.8
for rigid holding. They are also zinc coated to protect against
any rust forming.
Surface Finish:
The whole of the steelwork is hot dip galvanised
to BS729. This ensures a long-term life of the tower and also
reduces the maintenance to a minimum.
Alternate finishes (paints) can also be applied
at an extra cost.
Accessories:
The towers are supplied complete with rest
platforms at approximately every 10m
One cat-ladder complete with safety hoops is supplied. This
ensures site safety and good conditions for maintenance works
etc.
Any additional rest or full working platforms can be provided
at an extra cost on request.
Cable tray angle supports are also a feature
of “STARCOM” towers This allows for convenient
fixing of cables & feeders or cable trays.
Delivery:
The ‘all bolted fabrication’ system
permits “STARCOM” towers to be supplied in Complete
Knocked Down (CKD) form. All the components are suitable sized
for easy loading and unloading by any standard transport vehicle.
Small components are bagged or bundled for easy handling.
The delivery of all the items to the site
can be arranged on request, depending on the location of the
site.
Some standard towers may also be available ex-stock.
Erection:
Erection teams are available (subject to confirmation)
to assemble the towers.
An erection method statement and full working drawings can
be provided on request.
A simple system of marking enables various
components to be easily identifiable for erection purposes.
